About Us

Mission

Premier Funding Solutions Inc. is a Naperville, IL based consulting firm specializing in helping college bound students receive the best education at the best possible price.  Our commitment is to help families prepare (career planning, college search, college selection) and pay for college so that there is a mutual attraction between the student and the college, resulting in an overall decrease in the cost of attending the university.  We show parents how to pay for college without affecting retirement assets and without going broke. Our mission is to help you and your student make the best financial and college decision possible.

While PCFS works with all college-bound families, we especially focus on the needs of families who do not qualify for financial aid.  We specialize in helping self-employed parents, small business owners, franchise holders and families with trusts, major home equity and other large asset bases that can be destroyed by the college funding system.

History

Bob Proctor and Steve Nivens have been in the Financial Services business since the 1980's and have helped thousands of clients achieve their financial goals through wealth accumulation, estate planning and risk management.  In 2004 they began to realize that in some instances they had actually done too good a job relative to accumulating money for collegiate expenses.  They found that the Department of Education has specific formulas dictating what they feel parents can afford to pay for college.  In addition the methodology of how colleges charge students is not the same for everyone.  This information is not readily available to the general public and has become a specialty business for a few advisors around the country.  Steve and Bob decided to specialize in this business and have now added this to their practices, hence the creation of PCFS.

The Ugly Truth About College Financial Aid

Many parents assume their child would never meet the criteria for financial aid.   Financial aid comes in many forms and failing to at least try to qualify for it is a huge mistake made by numerous parents of college bound students.

One of the many myths we hear is that parents believe their income is too high. Granted, a high level of income will not help you qualify for a large sum of free financial aid, but you need to understand that income is only part of the equation. The overall formula used by the Department of Education is complex and confusing. Do not let a high level of income deter you from attempting to qualify. Read More...
